RAMO LAW’S ELSA RAMO NAMED “TRAILBLAZER” BY THE AMERICAN LAWYER

LOS ANGELES – August 1, 2022 – Entertainment law firm Ramo Law PC announced that Managing Partner Elsa Ramo has been recognized as a “West Trailblazer” in a special supplement published by The American Lawyer. According to the publication, the feature highlights Ramo’s pioneering work in entertainment law and the founding of The Professional Entertainment Female Attorneys (PEFA) organization to bring women together to network and for career development.

According to the feature, the “genesis” of the path that made Ramo a trailblazer “was early in my [Ramo’s] career when I started my own firm, consistently people wanted to connect me with other women that were doing what I was doing. This was primarily because at the time, it was an anomaly and unusual for a woman to be in entertainment law, especially on her own.” Ramo goes on to state that “Since the inception of an organic networking community, the landscape of women in the entertainment law field has transcended.”

The feature cites Ramo stating that “Women are in leadership roles and are extremely critical in fostering diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry. PEFA as an organization has been a nucleus to band together women to confer support one another in the growth of female representation in the field of entertainment law. The publication closes with Ramo stating PEFA’s key benefit on the future is to inspire “underrepresented women in the industry” who “first and foremost need talented leaders in entertainment law to represent and advocate for a woman’s right to be a content creator, a content owner, an executive and a voice and leader in the creation of content.”

Ramo has become a lead commenter on the impact of Covid-19 on production. She has been interviewed on Fox 11 News, Fox 11 Live, and KNX 1070; she has been quoted by Indiewire Variety, and The Wrap (1, 2); and her article “5 Things Producers Should Do When They Can’t Produce” was published in The Wrap.
